White iPhone 4 “Now Available In White”

To follow up on our article on the white iPhone 4 from Vodafone in the UK, I am happy to tell you that the white iPhone 4 is finally here in the US.  This is no rumor folks.  Apple released the white iPhone 4 in 28 countries including the US this Friday (4/28).

“The white iPhone 4 has finally arrived and it’s beautiful,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “We appreciate everyone who has waited patiently while we’ve worked to get every detail right.”
Contract prices through AT&T and Verizon remain the same ($199 for the 16GB or $299 for the 32GB models) and the phones seem to be readily available through the Apple Store.  We ordered one from the Apple Store on Friday and promptly received the 3 – 5 day shipping confirmation email.
As for differences between the white and black iPhone 4, there are very few.  The white iPhone 4 is repotedly 2mm thicker than it’s black predecessor and has a visible proximity sensor.  Reports have already surfaced of 3rd party cases being a bit too small, but the bumpers from Apple still fits perfectly.
